An Islamic school does not need to choose a donation platform purely because it mentions schools or Muslim communities. The useful question is which platform fits your campaign, staffing and cost priorities. Givebutter, Donorbox and LaunchGood deserve a place on that shortlist alongside MarkTrack Giving.

We build Giving. The comparisons below use the providers’ published information checked on October 1, 2026, combined with our view of the school workflow. Verify the current terms before opening an account.

Givebutter: review the tipping settings carefully

Givebutter’s pricing ties its nonprofit fee guarantee to enabled donor tips. With tips disabled, it lists a 3% platform fee and standard card processing of 2.9% + $0.30. Its page also describes fundraising, donor-management and engagement tools.

For a school, the next step is to walk through both checkout configurations. Show them to the staff who will answer donors’ questions. Confirm how optional tips and processing coverage are explained, then ask which paid features your team might need later. A broad fundraising suite can be useful when your school is building a dedicated development operation.

Giving’s advantage is its existing MarkTrack login and school access structure. It does not match a zero-cost guarantee: its standard 3% platform fee and processing costs remain part of the decision.

Donorbox: consider the form and the plan

Donorbox lists a 2.95% Standard platform fee for donation forms and fundraising pages, plus processing. Some other products cost more, and paid plans change the rates. It offers recurring gifts, hosted or embedded forms and AI tools.

If your Islamic school has an established website, test how a donation form fits its existing pages. Ask what your office needs beyond collection: donor management, account access, exports, in-person collection or additional integrations. Compare the plan that includes those needs rather than assuming the starting rate covers every product.

AI alone is not a useful reason to rule a platform in or out. Compare the actual output. Giving’s current promotion workflow packages printable material, a QR code, social images, animated promo video and AI-assisted copy around the same school campaign.

LaunchGood: consider community fit

LaunchGood describes itself as a Muslim fundraising platform. Its fee guide lists a 0% platform fee and standard card processing around 2.9% + $0.30, with optional tips supporting the platform.

That focus makes it relevant for an Islamic school or masjid raising awareness beyond its existing families. Ask how campaign review, promotion and supporter discovery work for your particular project. Being present on a fundraising platform does not guarantee that people will find or fund your campaign. Your story, relationships and follow-through still matter.

Giving focuses on your own MarkTrack-connected campaign workflow. It is not currently a donor-discovery marketplace. If reaching a wider fundraising community is the main requirement, evaluate that capability directly.

Where Giving earns a place

Giving can be a practical option for a US organization already using MarkTrack. Admins sign in with existing credentials, select their school or organization, and manage campaigns, donor records and monthly gifts in a dedicated workspace. Eligible donations route through Stripe to the organization’s connected account after fees.

MarkTrack’s market research suggests around 70% of donors choose to help cover fees. This is a research estimate; results vary by campaign. Optional coverage can help with costs, but it should not turn a fee comparison into a promise of zero cost. See the separate Zeffy comparison for that tradeoff.

Make the shortlist specific

Ask each vendor to demonstrate a one-time gift, monthly gift, donor receipt, cancellation and refund. Then have your administrator build a campaign with their own school story. Compare required features, total cost, the supporter experience and the effort of maintaining it throughout the year.

Giving currently focuses on donation campaigns and promotion material. Automated advertising agents, outbound email or call campaigns, auctions and a resale marketplace are not available today. Evaluate those needs separately before choosing your platform.
